My First Year of Running

Today, as I collected my bib for the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon 2024, I couldn’t help but reflect on how far I’ve come as a runner. It feels like just yesterday when I was introduced to this world of running, yet it’s been a year of incredible growth.

Last year, when I first considered participating in the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon, the registrations were already closed. Back then, I had little knowledge of running events, let alone the kind of milestones I could reach.

Fast forward to today, and I’m amazed at how much can change in just one year. 2024 has been a year of many firsts for me: my first half marathon, my first full marathon (which I ran in Dehradun), a half marathon in the scenic hills of Shimla, a night half marathon, and personal bests like completing a 5K in 22 minutes, a 10K in 50 minutes, a half marathon in 02 hours 02 minutes.

With two months still left in 2024, I’m gearing up for even more milestones. I’m on track to finish a half marathon in under two hours, run another full marathon, and even tackle a 50K ultra. It’s exciting to think about what’s yet to come!
